In 1986, a Canadian marathon runner suffered a hunger strike during a race – and realized that there was no suitable sports nutrition available. Together with his wife, he developed the world's first energy bar in his kitchen at home – laying the foundation for Powerbar®. Since then, we have grown, become an icon in the field of sports nutrition, and accompanied generations of athletes – from hobby runners to world-class athletes. In 2026, we will celebrate 40 years of Powerbar® – and today, more than ever, we are a synonym for performance.
