Clean Start Team
This year, we offered 17 athletes a Clean Start by giving them entry into the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon. These individuals have overcome, or are in the midst of overcoming, setbacks that sidelined them from achieving their goals. Our Team previously found themselves on the “did not finish” list or suffered from health-related injuries. Each of them needed a goal to help them persevere. Team PowerBar member Seth Minter, aka The FootDoctor, is a former football player turned athletic trainer. After a high school injury prevented him from playing in the NFL, he started his own program to help athletes improve their game through footwork and agility drills. As former teammates headed to the NFL, they sought out Seth’s unique footwork training to improve their performance on the field. Seth went back to studying to include dynamic body motion and injury prevention to give his athletes the best possible opportunities. When others in the League saw teammates using Seth’s drills, people began to call asking for the FootDoctor.Read More

With less than a year until the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, we caught up with Team PowerBar member and professional freeskiier Nick Goepper. At 22 years old, Nick is already a four-time Winter X-Games medalist (3 gold and 1 silver) and a 2014 Olympic Bronze medalist in Slopestyle. He burst onto the scene in 2012 and has been atop most of the major podiums since. An injury kept him off the snow in 2016, but he’s back on course and looking to create some more waves in 2017.Read More
