About Me

Friendly, Honest, Hard Working and want to do the best I can for everyone....Hope you do the same!

I am a former professional cyclist and you can read about me growing up learning about the sport of cycling in Norway 1979. It takes you through my long journey starting racing at age 10 until standing on the podium at a world championship and representing Norway in the Olympic Games and Paralympic. Now I am a fulltime junior and U23 cycling coach in the Lehigh Valley, PA.

Inspirations

My family, my husband, historic legends in sport like french icons Hinault, Fignon, Longo, spanish riders Indurain, and we can't miss the norwegian cross country skiiers in the mid 1980-1995. What I loved with these athletes is their passion for the sport, their dedication to work harder than others, dicipline and sportsmanship. I had the pleasure of racing with Jeannie Longo 1986-2003 and it was an honor just to be around her. She was a tough lady but great racer.

Favorite thing about training

Cycling is individual and team sport and it is up to each individual what they want out of it. I love the challenge of pushing my self that either in high intensity intervals or super long endurance rides, or as crazy as it can sound do a 80mile road ride in the morning and 3-4h later do a 3km pursuit test race on the velodrome to test my mind. I was good at that. I rode a lot with guys growing up and think that made me very tough - though I am born stubbern and with a ton of will power and work etich.

Least favorite thing about training

Riding in cold rain fall or spring when you have to. Uh.

I work out to...

When I was racing full time I was training with the inner drive of being the best in the world. I never listen to music on rides outdoors just when riding on trainers indoor. Rock music was best. I am the same today.

Unusual training regimens

High volume of training already as 15yr old girl. My body worked best with high volume of training year around - but of course everything was planned and carefully placed in order for optimal perforamance. I managed to peak for most all of my important races on a regular basis from day one as a cyclist.
