Lamar Odom shoots on the moon with PowerBar Gel Blasts!
PowerBar recently shot a Gel Blasts commercial with Lamar Odom from the LA Lakers, and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the shoot and see what went on behind the scenes. Lamar's nickname is "The Candy Man", and he lived up to his name of having a sweet tooth; there is a scene where he pops a Gel Blast into his mouth, and he ate the energy chew on almost every single take! The commerical was shot in two phases - the first was live action at a gym in Los Angeles, and the second half used miniatures at a nearby production studio. The ad starts out with Lamar and the other basketball players in a gym, and Lamar brags that he is going to dunk on the moon. We next see a mini Lamar shooting through space with a rocket on his back, and dodging planets as he makes his way to the moon ("Get outta my way Saturn!").The Lamar figurine refuels with PowerBar Gel Blasts before doing his successful dunk on the moon, and we next see the real Lamar again landing back at the gym. Lamar and the other actors did a great job, and kept fueled through the afternoon with PowerBar Raspberry Gel Blasts. A whole day of shooting ended up with 30 seconds of footage, and the result will air in February and March on multiple channels. Yeah, too bad the link for the free trial doesn't actually go anywhere. So, I guess I WON'T be trying the product. And I guess I'll STOP buying powerbar's products for wasting my time on their website.

IDK, what you guys are talking about. I was able to get signed up for a FREE sample of the gel blasts... I can't wait to get my free sample in a few weeks, rather than buy it and figuring out I don't like it. I hope they send a variety of flavors... raspberry and lemon. I guess I will just have to wait and see. Catch a later... thanks power bar for the free samples.
