A Shot in the Dark
After months of long daylight hours I had gotten spoiled to be able to ride for at least a couple hours after work. Ah, the joys of summer! All of that has come to a halt though, and after daylight savings on Sunday I had my first ride in the dark last night. I wore a light colored kit and my blinking red lights, however discovered that the battery in my front light died within the first block of my ride - duh! Luckily Jackie, Mikki, and Jen had great lights on their bikes, and as the four of us rode around the Rose Bowl they lit the way for me. We had a nice chat and ride, and to keep up my base miles over the winter I want to make the Monday Night Ladies ride part of my routine. Not only did this week mark the transition of seasons, but of training too; Ironman is now a distant memory, and I am kickstarting my 2010 season now.
