Medal at Elite Track Nationals!
Really happy to report that Thursday night, SportVelo athletes won a bronze medal in the team pursuit at Elite Track Nationals in the team pursuit at the ADT velodrome in Carson, CA! Absolutely thrilling! The team did only about a week or so of practicing together at Hellyer, and the Hellyer velodrome in San Jose is much different from the ADT velodrome, and much more gentle and forgiving. The ADT velodrome is steep and fast, and the women started out a little too fast and had to adjust for the fast, fast exchanges off the banking. Additionally, the women who were the least strong in practice stepped up and surprised her teammates, who had to further adjust the number of laps each pulled. Nevertheless, the 2nd ride in the finals was clean, and they worked out all the hiccups to ride a 3:58 to win bronze! Thanks, Powerbar!
