Ironman race report

It's been a week now since I've completed my first Ironman!  What a blast!  I think that everyone should do an Ironman.  The race started out in a time trial fashion because of the way the shore is.  The race took place in Louisville, Kentucky, which is the only time trial start Ironman on the circuit.  The Ohio River is where we were all channeled into, and it was less than desirable.  I could taste the water on my lips and could not wait to get out!  With only about ten minutes left in the swim, I was punched in the face.  Although it was an accident, it still hurt like crazy!  After the swim, I felt great!  I changed my clothes and put on PowerBar gear!  The bike was so much fun!  I saw more ambulences than I wish to talk about, but I made it through the miles unharmed and ready to run.  I was surprised at how easy the run was, maybe it was because I grew up doing marathons, but that was a very enjoyable portion of the race to me.  The finish line was welcomed and so was the pizza and massage.  Overall, I had a great time and finished the race 18th in my division!  I am looking forward to my next Ironman in June!!
