weight lifting

I have a question about weight lifting. I have been lifting weight for awhile but am curious to know what method is the most effective. Should i be lifting heavy weights a few times or light weights a lot of times, or somewhere between?

Haha okay you need to do upper body lower body,it matters not how much weight you do but how your technique for that lift is,and it must be great.I lift for football, baseball, and basketball just lift do clean, squat, deadlift, bench and perfect the technique you'll get bigger i went from running a 5.3 40yrd dash to a 4.5 i do 3 x 3's 10 8 6's and more.

@Anthony... you should think about breaking your workouts down further. For example (Chest and Triceps on Monday), (Back and Biceps on Tuesday), and so on. If you are working out upper and lower every other day, you are probably overtraining. Hit me back if you want more training advice or add me as a friend on Facebook (Travis Sackett).

ok this is a very common question beginner bodybuilders ask........first of all working out everyday is never good....you always want a day to rest so this is what i do i work out Monday, Wednesday, and then Friday.....the days i dont lift i rest my muscles and when i work out i do 2 body parts a day...i do pushes and pulls when i work out.....Monday: Chest and Shoulders, Wednesday: Back and Biceps, Friday: Legs and Triceps......and every thing i do my sets go 12, 10, 8, 6.......and when i bench
