SportVelo Mid-SummerTraining Camp

Three days of beautiful weather in the Santa Cruz mountains spurred on a small but persistent group of SportVelo athletes during the SportVelo Mid-Summer Camp. Determined to improve their endurance after weeks of crits and track riding, the cyclists took on the hills, including an 81-mile ride with 8,000 feet of climbing up such hills as China Grade. The last day was topped by the infamous "Planet of the Apes" ride to Half Moon Bay as 15 cyclists endured first the heat of the day, then then cool, wet fog, and single-track dirt on their road bikes -- good for bike handling!
