Triathlon Club of San Diego Race

On Saturday, October 8th I raced the Triathlon Club of San Diego monthly race at Fiesta Island. My approach was pretty laid back, but I did my best once the gun sounded. I placed 5th out of 65 men and 5th out of 85 overall finishers.

The race started with a 700 meter swim in the Bay. The water was amazingly cold for this time of year. This came as a big surprise to everyone. My swim time was 13:02.

The bike course was 5 laps of the south part of the island for a total of 12.5 miles. My bike split was 34:10.

The run course was 2 laps of the north part of the island for a total of 3.75 miles. My run split was 23:05 for a finish time of 1:13:28.

Of course, I stuck around afterwards for the always great post race TCSD breakfast. Typically after those breakfasts I stick around and do some more training. But since my season is over, I allowed myself to just head home and call it a day.
