Right Knee Arthroscopy and PowerBar to get back to mountain biking this year.

In December 2010 I played in the YMCA racquetball league and won my match.  Two days later my right knee was locking up and I couldn't straighten it.  Are these connected?  I don't know but last year I emphasized cycling, both mountain and road, and that is a straight line high end endurance sport.  My knee would be ok for several days and then it would act up again.  Spinning didn't bother it and so I stopped playing RQball.  My left knee did this in May 2007 when coaching tennis at Sheboygan Lutheran High.  I wore a brace and after tennis all I did was cycling and it recovered and has been fine since.  The right knee always had intermittent locking and pain.  I mentioned it to my family doctor taking my annual physical in March.  He said he just had his knee 'scoped' and they took 5 pieces out, but he is a runner.  Two days later my knee went out again.  Called the doc and he scheduled an MRI.  Results were a loose body and cartilage defect.  Saw orthopedic surgeon Dr. Lang who also saw Baker's cyst with loose body in back.  He asked what to I want to do- leave it (I'm 60) or operate (I'm active cycling, racing, and coaching).  Removed 1/2" loose body on April 29.  I became an expert on the royal wedding while recovering. It's now 3 weeks and I rode my road bike outside yesterday for the first time.  The knee gets sore but not painful.  Aleve and ice after.  Hoping to get to WORS (Wisconsin Off Road Series) mountain bike race at Wausau in 3 more weeks just to test out the knee and not to really race hard.  We'll see how the rest of the summer goes.  Write me if you have any advice for recovery and regaining strength after knee arthroscopy. Keeping up with PowerBar during this back to training mode will be great for my nutrition and hydration.
