Jenna

Jenna A. Bell-Wilson, PhD, RD Registered Dietitian & Board Certified Specialist

A registered dietitian, Dr. Bell-Wilson earned her doctorate with distinction in Health and Human Performance at the University of New Mexico. A triathlete and Ironman finisher, she provides nutrition consultation to elite and professional athletes, including Ironman World Champions.


Fun Fact: Jenna finished the 2007 Coeur D’Alene Ironman in 14:27.

Greg

Greg Cox Senior Sports Dietitian, APD
Australian Institute of Sport
BHMS, Grad Dip Nutr and Diet, MHSc (Human Nutrition)

Greg has 15 years' experience in working with elite and development athletes and has been part of the Australian Institute of Sport, Department of Sports Nutrition, since 1998. He has completed study in exercise physiology, nutrition and dietetics, and sports nutrition, which has served as a perfect foundation to deliver state-of-the-art nutrition programs to athletes and sporting teams. He is partway through completing his PhD studies investigating nutritional issues for high-intensity endurance athletes.


Fun Fact: Greg is a competitive surf lifesaver and has completed the arduous Coolangatta Gold Surf Ironman race in Australia. Greg has also completed the Hawaii Ironman and has an Ironman personal best of 9:11.

Matt

Matt Erlenbusch, MS, RD Private Practice Nutrition Consultant/Coach

A Registered Dietitian with a MS in Exercise Science, Matt has lead-authored research on fuel metabolism and endurance sport performance in an international scientific journal. Also a premier amateur athlete, he has ranked in the top 18% at the Hawaii Ironman, owns a 4:18 half-ironman, and a sub 3-hour marathon posting.


Fun Fact: Matt’s latest athletic pursuits: 100-mile mountain bike races and cyclocross!

Tricia

Tricia L. Griffin, RD, CSSD POWERBAR Sports Nutritionist

A board-certified specialist in sports dietetics, registered dietitian, and member of the American College of Sports Medicine, Tricia has served as a sports nutrition consultant for a wide range of athletes, from club teams to professional competitors. Tricia is an avid runner and competes in marathons.


Fun Fact: Tricia once single-handedly corralled escaped cattle during a run near her house in Arizona.

Ryan

Ryan T. Hartz, MS, RD, CSSD POWERBAR® Sports Nutritionist, Consumer Services

A Registered Dietitian with a master's degree in Sports Nutrition and Exercise Science from Marywood University in Scranton, PA, Ryan has been working with POWERBAR® since 2007 as the Consumer Services Sports Nutritionist. Ryan enjoys running and is training for his first marathon.


Fun Fact: Ryan's favorite race is the Pittston Tomato Festival 5k, which ends with a grueling tomato fight.

Christopher  D.

Christopher D. Jensen, PhD, MPH, RD Nutrition & Epidemiology Researcher

Dr. Jensen manages health-related research studies at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research in Northern California. He is also a sports nutrition writer and has years of experience in the design and testing of sports nutrition products. Dr. Jensen is a recreational runner and former basketball player.


Fun Fact: Chris loves running on the beach and playing the drums.

Alex

Alex M. McDonald, MD Medical Doctor and Professional Triathlete

A graduate with a medical degree from the University of Vermont and also the Amateur Ironman World Champion at Kona 2007, Alex is temporarily putting his medical career on hold to race as a professional triathlete.


Fun Fact: While a 4th-year medical student, Alex found time to train and win Ironman USA Lake Placid in 2007

Trent

Trent Stellingwerff, PhD, Senior Research Scientist — Performance Nutrition, Nestle Research Center

Trent has a PhD in Exercise and Skeletal Muscle Physiology. Widely published in major scientific and medical journals, Dr Stellingwerff’s research- and academic-based background combined with his coaching and personal competitive experiences helps inform his nutritional recommendations for athletes.


Fun Fact: Trent, an active runner, competes in ECO-Challenges and road races. He coaches several Olympic-level athletes, including his wife, ranked top-30 in the world in women's 1500m

Eric

Eric Velazquez Author

Eric Velazquez is a sports and fitness writer with over 10 years' experience covering elite athletes and their training, nutrition and performance. A former college baseball player, he now enjoys training at home and serving as a guinea pig for fitness programs that he writes about.


Fun Fact: Eric's favorite get-fit pasttime is boxing training. For a 2006 story, he trained under the watch of a professional boxing coach and lost 17 pounds in 12 weeks.
