The Nike+ Human Race is the world’s largest one-day running event, offering runners across the globe the unprecedented chance to run and compete together on August 31, 2008. The 10K event will span multiple continents and cover 25 cities. Each city’s race will start on the same day, with the first race kicking off in Taipei and the last one ending in Los Angeles. The Nike+ Human Race courses will take runners by famous landmarks and each will end with a top musical act. Participants will be able to run for a worthy cause and support three Nike+ Human Race charitable partners: WWF, the global conservation organization, Lance Armstrong Foundation -- uniting people in the fight of cancer, and the UN refugee agency's ninemillion.org campaign -- bring sport and education to refugee youth. Money will be raised via givebacks from registration fees, a percentage of Nike+ Human Race t-shirt sales and a donation of USD $1 million from Nike. Additionally, runners outside of the 25 race cities can still participate and run from anywhere in the world using Nike+ technology.
