PowerBar RSS FAQs

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is an easy-to-use technology that enables you to get up-to-the-minute information from your favorite websites delivered right to your computer. It's like getting all the headlines of all your favorite newspapers, magazines and websites all on one screen.

To use RSS, you need to use a News Reader or Aggregate - a program that provides a real-time interface to the feeds you select.

What is a News Reader/Aggregator?
A News Reader/Aggregator is software that lets you subscribe to RSS feeds.
Why should I use a News Reader/Aggregator?
Using an RSS News Reader/Aggregator allows you to be alerted when new articles on the topics you're interested in are available. This way, you will be kept informed with all the latest up-to-the-minute news and information. Mostly News Readers/Aggregators will pop up a new window when a new article is available. When you are alerted about a new article, you can click on a link that will take you directly to it.
Where can I get an RSS News Reader/Aggregator?
