"Nutrition can be your weakest link or it can help you win the race. It gets me to the start line –healthy, strong and energized – and then it gets me to the finish line with energy to spare. And more importantly, it gets me through a very rigorous daily training and recovery routine,” triathlete, Lisa Bentley shares. “My daily diet revolves around fruit, vegetables, whole grains, fish and eggs. My training and racing diet revolves around PowerBar products.
I begin every morning with a POWERBAR® Sport bar en route to swim practice. I follow that up with whole grain cereal and fruit and a POWERBAR® ProteinPlus® bar. Then it is usually onto the next session – if that is a run, then I’ll skip the cereal and have another POWERBAR® Sport bar to prepare for the run workout, using POWERBAR® Gels as fuel during the run if it is a long session. If it is a bike ride, then I’ll bring POWERBAR® Sport bars along to keep me energized. Then it is home for a proper meal of fish and cottage cheese and fruit. I do not like to go hungry – EVER – and PowerBar products help me stay on top of my eating all day long.”

Winning 10 Ironmans and winning at least one per year since 2000.
Breaking down barriers - I love to push myself to a level of pain that is new!
Pushing so hard that I get injured and then have to go through the recovery process.
There have been a lot of big ones! Broken ribs, burst appendix - probably having to walk part of the Ironman Australia marathon because of a tendon injury - gutting!
I never change my routine or my gear - I visualize the whole race and say a prayer.
 Reading and walking my dogs.
I put on training clinics to raise money for local sport teams; visiting local schools on career day.
 I get a manicure every 3 weeks!
