Reno Race Report
<<** id=NewsOverview> ABA Season Opener Brings Out The Team! <<** id=NewsDescription>The rodeo dust settled out of the Sparks Livestock Event Center this past Sunday. The American Bicycle Association hosted their 2011 national season opener in Reno, NV. Every year the series kicks off inside this small arena that is jammed full with racers ready to kick off the season. Most of our riders were nearly tuning up for the year or continuing the never ending BMX season with another race. For Nate Mellone it was nothing more than a 2 week break since the NBL Christmas Classic but he was back on the cruiser bicycle and making mains. On Sunday Nathan got 7th place in the 26-30 cruiser class. Robert Phillips has been training hard and made his way out to Reno after a few months off the bike but mending up a broken rib put him out of racing before mains each day. Tas Slavin did awesome work in the 17-18 expert class. He was making it to Semis each day in a class that has nothing but future pros. Koa Phillips was getting back on the bike after a couple months off and Michele Patterson took on the UCI Elite Women for Eliminator & Pats 605. In her new colors for the first time she got into a wreck each day but made the main on Sunday to get 7th place in the girls class. The 2011 season is just getting started and our next race will be in Primm, NV for the kickoff of the NBL Nations Tour. Michele Patterson will be racing the UCI Elite Women class on Saturday while our entire roster of amateurs will be hitting the track Sunday. Our entire season is shaping up to be the greatest ever so stay tuned in the coming weeks for some great news from our 2011 sponsor list.
Thankgiving Week
<<** id=NewsOverview>Riders Grab their awards, jumpstart their points and chase the weather the week before Thanksgiving. <<** id=NewsDescription> Last weekend blew by us and next weekend Turkey Dinner in Tulsa, OK is approaching rapidly. Last weekend we were in Santa Maria, CA for the NBL Dorsey Cup followed by a day of 2010 awards at the magic mountain amusement park. Koby Lopez, Cody Wilson, Craig Harvey, Gunnar Carlson, Austin Batman, and Tory Lopez were getting a head start on the 2011 state series points. Cody & Austin took wins, Craig & Gunnar took 2nds while Tory got 3rd and Koby got 4th. In just a couple days Michele Patterson will be heading out to Tulsa, OK for the ABA Grand National Championship doing battle with the Elite Women. Cody Wilson will be heading to Morristown, TN for the NBL Thanksgiving Classic. Nate Mellone was ready for the Nor Cal Classic this weekend but as the crew was loading up it was cancelled due to the impending rain that is not going to let up in Northern California. It looks like the last weekend home for the crew will be spent in Southern California trying to dodge the weather and train for just a few more sprints before heading out to the holiday weekend races.

Redline Cup Finals
id=NewsDescription> Boulder City, NV was hoping with BMX again after a couple years of not having any big time races coming into the Las Vegas Area the ABA brought it back with the Redline Cup Finals for the west on October 15-17. The entire weekend was 3 non stop days of racing at the track. The Eliminator crew headed up with the 6 riders that had been racing the qualifiers during the year. Friday evening had Craig Harvey and Cody Wilson doing battle in the pre-race. Cody finished up 2nd and Craig took 1st. On Saturday morning the US Open for the west coast was going down and the entire team had made it’s way into town. Austin Bateman has been sneaking around most of the summer remembering how to ride his bike again and made it known that he is fully ready for the 2011 season. Austin took didn’t lose a lap the whole weekend and was able to take 1st place for not only Saturdays US Open but the Redline Cup Championship on Sunday. Craig Harvey took a 3rd battling the Cruiser class. Koa Phillips took a hard fall during rounds on Saturday and it put a stop to his weekend of success. Cody Wilson tangoed with a small class that was only filled with the best riders and was able to put together a super fast main event lap for 2nd place on Saturday. Robert Phillips was in contention for a championship and Sunday proved for some hard racing and he was able to make the main event and finish up 3rd place and kept himself on the podium box. Cody Wilson also climbed up on the box in the 2nd place title. In one of the fastest classes around the track we had our new rider to join for 2011. Tas Slavin was putting in super fast laps all weekend and was our other rider that didn’t lost a lap the whole weekend. Putting it down into the champion spot both days. These scores rounded out the 2010 Redline Cup Series. We only have a couple major races left for the 2010 season and without the help of Supercross Bicycles, ODI Grips, PowerBar, KMC Chains, Flex Power Sports Cream, Gear Up Bike Racks, Squirt Chain Lube, Identity Theft Shield, SixSixOne Protection, Kenda Tires, Leatt Neck Braces, Alienation Wheels, Ice Tools, Sock Guy Custom Socks, No Fear Gear, Brave Soldier Skincare, and Rudy Project Eyewear we wouldn’t have had one of the most successful seasons to date.
NBL Golden State Finals
Since April the team has been chipping away at the 2010 Golden State Series for an National Bicycle League CA State Title. With stops in Livermore, Fresno, Santa Maria, Orange Cove, Reedley and Lucerne Valley the riders were gaining points for the championship weekend held the second weekend in October. The weekend event started on Saturday with a last chance to qualify or better your point ranking going into Sundays championship race. The highlight of Saturdays festivities was the Pro-Am event with a $700 purse that had our rider Craig Harvey entered into the event as the only man in the show over 30 racing for the glory of a pro moto win. Craig had a brand new Supercross Blur to race on and after a couple good motos Craig had a hard crash that almost put a stop to his entire weekend. After a nights rest he came back on Sunday only racing his cruiser bicycle to take the state #1. Tory Lopez was racing the boys as a rookie and was able to finish 3rd in the state series while her brother Koby was racing the 12 experts and took a 2nd in the state for 2010. Gunnar Carlson is our other little guy that was running the borders of our state series all year. Gunnar was able to finish with a #3 plate for the year. Ken Leslie was on a comeback this year and even with a few slow starts it was more than impressive to see him walking much less riding a bicycle in the 2010 season. Ken raced the season, got qualified and took a #6 state ranking for the season in the cruiser class. Jimmy Leslie was the main guy racing the 16 expert class for the series and it paid off on Championship weekend as he took #1 in the state for the 2nd year. In the 26-34 Expert class Cody Wilson has been the state champion for the decade but with some of the younger races moving in it was proving to be tougher than ever to keep the title. Team rider Nathan Mellone was one of these riders making the move. It came down to Sundays scores and when Cody took a win in round 1 it nearly sealed the gap he needed to keep the champion status for another year. Nathan finished the year in 3rd for the Golden State. All of the riders racing the series have now qualified for the 2010 Presidents cup in Ohio and to represent California during the race. Look for a few of our riders in December at the race. The 2010 Season is continuing to be a great success thanks to the help of Supercross Bicycles, ODI Grips, PowerBar, KMC Chains, Flex Power Sports Cream, Gear Up Bike Racks, Squirt Chain Lube, Identity Theft Shield, SixSixOne Protection, Kenda Tires, Leatt Neck Braces, Alienation Wheels, Ice Tools, Sock Guy Custom Socks, No Fear Gear, Brave Soldier Skincare, and Rudy Project Eyewear
